We wrapped up regular season competition with many of our fastest times of the year. I’m so proud the effort our runners have put into this shortened season. They’ve capitalized on each practice and now we are seeing the fruits of their labor. 22 out of 28 runners had either personal (PR) or season records (SR).
Our ladies were led once again by first year runner, junior Lauren Green, who continues to improve each meet. Chloe Svilich had the biggest time improvement on the day, coming in second for the Hawks, and improving her best time by over a minute. Alexis Fadness & Tiana Tran also had personal record times on the day. The girls placed 3rd as a team against two very strong teams from Connell and Toppenish. I’m excited for the future of our girls XC team, because we’ll return all our runners and gain some solid upcoming freshman next year.
The boys continue to make gains against Connell as Cameron Howard leapfrogged his competition in a personal record performance, earning 5th place overall. Joshua Courtney continues to lead the boys with a 3rd place finish and a season record time. Dallin Hawkins and rest of the boys varsity runners had personal or season best times over the 5k course. I’m real happy with their training progress, and looking forward to hitting our peak performance at Districts next Thursday March 18th @ Connell.
